VibeArt Studio is owned and operated by April Vibert. She was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario. As a little girl April was always drawing or painting on any scrap paper (or wall) around the house. At the age of 15 she began teaching Arts & Crafts classes at summer camps that eventually led her into teaching as a guest artist at various schools within her community. April left Thunder Bay in 2007 to begin her post-secondary education at Toronto's York University. She studied Visual Arts, Dance and Education. In 2012 she earned her Honours BFA and B.ed and began her career as an art educator in Toronto, ON. Since graduation April has been a Visual Arts teacher for private schools, led weekly programs with Arts Express teaching drawing, cartooning, and hip hop dance classes as well as invited as a guest artist to many high school programs for both Visual Arts and Dance. After all her years of advocating art education, she had decided to begin her own journey with a company that holds great opportunity for the arts.
In 2015 VibeArt Studio was created as a company to offer affordable art classes for teens and adults within Toronto. Classes had explored printmaking, drawing, painting and sometimes a combination of all three. A lot of fun was had at the Studio. One year later, April was hired by the Toronto District School Board to teach a combination of Visual Arts and Dance at the high school level. Many professional opportunities were arising and have led April to find her passion running art programs within Alternative Schools. This drive to teach young adults has expanded her knowledge of art as well as compassion for students at risk. This journey has led April to work directly with students who wish to continue their education in the arts and has turned VibeArt Studio into a business for those who wish to further develop their skills and abilities on a one-to-one basis.
